‘Work Together’ Contest and Unlocking Tower XIV
Dear Puppet Guardians,
Good news to all of us! The time has come for Tower XIV to be finally unlocked! We reached the 1700th Butterfly Bottle donation. Now it’s time for our contest to begin! Within those last 300 donations there are 2 hidden ‘Lucky Butterfly Bottles’. Two players who hit that particular numbers of donations will be awarded with High Slumber Orbs!
How Do We Know You Are The Winner?
We will need a proof of your donations. After each of your Butterfly Bottle is donated to Marcus, take a screenshot of the chat log which says your name and the exact number of the donation you supplied. There is now a new thread on Forum where you are able to post the screenshot. The winner will be announced right after the last Butterfly Bottle is submitted and when the Garden of Slumber’s entrance is open.
You can donate as many items as possible, but you can only give max. of 10 Butterfly Bottles at a time.
Please, get ready with the Butterfly Bottles as we still need a lot of them! Don’t worry, there is still time to collect Powdery Scales and Glossy Wings, but don’t waste a minute! The sooner we donate, the quicker we will enjoy the new Tower XIV.
I can’t wait for the Garden of Slumber to be unlocked, but this first implies a little less sleep to all of us, hard working Puppets!

First Annual Valentine Cup Finals
I hope all of you, gents, managed to do something romantic for your Valentine these past few days. When it goes to squires, I know one that gave his lady a perfect gift this Valentine’s Day. I would like to congratulate Mint and her squire, Snickers, for winning the first annual Valentine Cup!

The final battle of this tournament was played out between the two very respected gentlemen: Charming, The Dauntless Prince (lvl. 320) belonging to Liisa, and Snickers, the Cobalt Blue Expert Swordsman (lvl. 201). Snickers was sent to battle by his lady with Holy Bronze Long Sword and a Storm Shield, while Charming protected by love and Accursed Roaring Shield was trying to knock the opponent down with a Crushing Wand.
Faith, hard work, and devotion to his mistress, won Snickers Holy Flame Bow and a beautiful trophy all conferred to Mint. Who would have hoped for more, ladies?

The Upcoming Game Changes
Hello Puppet Guardians!
Quite important changes have been recently implemented into the Japanese Puppet Guardian, and they will soon also affect our version in more than one way. I thought I would let you know what’s coming.
There are quite a few good news! First, take a look, how the item window shall look in the future:
It will be renewed into a wider version, with different name and profile style and more slots to equip items! The overall technical changes in display I find really stylish! What’s more important, more Accessories will expand our fighting abilities!
Let me explain more about the changes now..
Three New Spots for the Equipment
We will now be able to equip up to 3 “Magic Items”. Magic items will be those items with magic or ability that have, up until now, been part of the Accessories. For instance Armlets, Gauntlets, all types of Jewelry or Angel Wings, will all go to Magic Items slot. The Accessory frame will now be used only for fashionable Accessories or items that have no abilities or gems.
Imagine how our fighting tactics will widen with the ability to equip three Magic Items instead of two! Artifact says, there has been a lot of demand from players themselves for those changes, and I think it’s high time to implement them, with so many new items recently appearing, take for instance all the new Armlets! Undoubtedly, the game focuses on the strength given by the gem items, so I advise you to decide on your most needed magic and go gem hunting!
The Amount of Gold Coins Will Not Be Visible for Other Players
In your own item list, the amount of gold coins you possess, as well as a gold coin graphic will still be displayed, but other players will no longer be able to see it. It definitely implies more privacy for a player.
The Design of the Back of Item Cards Will Be Changed.
The back of the magic item cards will be now displayed in this fashion.
Also, we know that there are plans on increasing the number of characters you can have in your profile.
I personally think the approaching changes are really well-designed, they open new possibilities for players, and show a proper advancement and novel way of development of the game. In addition, they are implemented just in the right time, and I view them as a positive and exciting change for all of us.
So, get ready for the big changes!
*It’s important to mention that those alterations only recently have appeared in the Japanese version of the game, hence, please allow a bit of time for them to appear in our version. But we are getting there soon!

MR Guild Headquarters
Dear Puppet Guardians,
part of the recent Valentine’s Day Event updates was the Guild Headquarters, which I would like to tell you more about today.
The new MR lobby is more than helpful, as you can now find all NPCs in one area. Moreover, the whole room arrangement is amazing! In one corner, you can even have a rest in a quiet area with drinks where you can meet with friends for a little break from MR monster hunt. The cosy design of the HQ is truly impressive and the variety of the NPCs located in one place makes Guild HQ a very useful lobby to come by from time to time.
A very peculiar is also the Furniture Guild NPC with first ever, MR quest. Once you accept the quest from the Cat, it accompanies you back to your room. I guess it needs to keep an eye (the green, or the yellow one?) on your progress in fulfilling the quest. Be careful though, the Cat is rather vulnerable, so when you kill monsters together, it may die pretty quick, so take a good care of it.
The reward for completing the quest is a Furniture Coupon, which you can redeem to purchase items from the limited editions furniture currently on sale. For every upcoming new furniture series that will appear in MR, we will get 1 quest from the Cat NPC, so that each time we can get some items for free!

It is important to mention, that the appearance of new Guild HQ is connected to the plans of locking up Yellow Brick Road with 1 Lightning Seal very soon. However, the Headquarters will stay open to everyone even after Valentine’s Day Event finishes. This way, we will still have a place to meet, find a particular NPC (who doesn’t know how difficult it is sometimes to find Barber in MR?), or simply a place to bump into some friends and have a break together.
MR Valentine Tournament
Hello, Lovely Puppet Guardians!
I hope you are enjoying the event so far. Yesterday, we have had the Valentine Tournament announced.

Obviously, the Valentine’s Day celebrations lay on the basis of the main concept of the participation rules. On that special day, it is men who are supposed to make gifts for women to express their admiration. Hence, the condition is that only your male squires can fight for you. Who knows, maybe your faithful squire will bring you the highest trophy?
Each win in the tournament will earn you Small Medal and Sweet Chocolate, which is still quite a rare item in Puppet Guardian. You can synthesize a few interesting items from it:
Moreover, with this event, you can add more chocolate flavor to your room as a new series of furniture became possible to synthesize form Sweet Chocolate. You will now be able to make 2 different types of truffle cushions, a cosy sofa, delicious chocolates cakes and chocolate lion and frog figurines! How sweet is that!
That’s how your room can look with Sweet Chocolate furniture incorporated. Perfect for small MR celebrations such as your friends’ birthdays!
The winner of the Tournament will be awarded with Holy Flame Bow and a special trophy. It’s definately worth the effort!
Don’t forget to sign up your knightly squires on time, before 19th February. The preliminary rounds start on February, 20th.

Pet Exchange Campaign – Gehenna (Chick)
Hello Puppet Guardians!
The last of the Pet Exchange Campaign is the Gehenna Chick which enters the stage paralel to the Valentine’s Day event updates! If you still remember, during the 1st week of the campaign, there was an adult Gehenna available, so this time there is its exact miniature, a chick Gehenna. It likes to perch its tiny self so cutely on your head!
You can see how small it is compared to a normal adult Gehenna!
Those chick feathers look so soft and fluffy! Its beak looks tiny too. This Gehenna is still a baby, so it can’t do any difficult attacks like scratching with its claws or poking with its beak. But it can do dash attacks for you and will definitely be a useful companion. For those who have an adult Gehenna as well, it looks like it’d be a lot of fun to go adventuring together with an adult and chick Gehennas.
No doubt you’ll feel great exploring PG together with baby Gehennas.
By all means give one a new home!

Valentine’s Day event in Puppet Guardian
Dear Puppet Guardians,
The Valentine’s Day event is coming and together with it, lots of love will flow into PG and MR. The Puppet Guardian part of the event will be focused in Tower III. One of its excitements will be a new monster that will appear there. Its silhouette looks like this:
Hm, it looks like a mysterious dryad-human, who else loves Dryads out there?
After defeating it you can collect new sweet items, from which you will synthesize different Cocoas preventing you from sleep:
Mmm.. Very appetizing, isn’t it? Warms up body and soul in this still cold weather outside. I don’t know about you, but I will definitely come to collect a lot.
Much harder to make will be Roll Hammer:
It’s rather cute! Looks like enormous sweet and delicious cake! It makes you want to eat it right away. The special attack effects look amazing too with little hearts emanating from underneath it! Imagine fun you can have while killing monsters with it.
As for now, I would advise you to store up a lot of dice to have enough fun with friends! I can’t wait for the in game Valentine event and Tower III to get crowded again!

Valentine’s Day Contest!
Attention S il Vous Plait Puppets!
I’m glad to share this wonderful news with you. My dear workmate and your beloved moderator Wero not long ago came up with this idea and we decided to realize it as soon as possible. While there is enough information on forum, i would also like to share details here also.
“Dear Puppet Guardians,
We all know that Valentine’s Day is coming close! And we also noticed that some of the puppets already have that ‘significant’ one: that one and only Puppet that you know your PG experience wouldn’t be the same without… Ah, how romantic, isn’t it?
As we are approaching this magical and lovely day, we need to celebrate it properly in PG, with lots of love floating in the air, and so, we came up with a screen shot contest!
This time, you will need take 3 pictures. We want you to pair up with your best friend and take 3 screenshots picturing your PG relationship: past (e.x. how you met or how was your relation before), present (e.x. what you like doing together, where you like hanging out, etc), and future (e.x. how you imagine your relation to be in a few weeks, months, years).
Just to clear it up – it does not have to be a romantic photo session (unless you want, and due to the celebration’s character – very welcome). It doesn’t matter if your pair is female or male, either in PG, or in real life. The whole point is to illustrate your friendship, relationship, sister/brother-hood and a chance for both of you to look at your friendship and express it in a creative way.
Each player can take part in up to two entries. You can post you screenshots under this thread. After the deadline of 14th February, we will take a few days for other players to vote for your work. You will be able to vote by sending a forum message to me (Wero) or Rivers.
Rewards:
1st Winner pair – each player gets to choose a scratchcard from Gravity Flame series, and will receive a Cupid Bear.
Every player from the next three highest places will receive a Golem Heart.

New Dice Game Stage – Golden Alakul River

there is a new Tower recently implemented in the Japanese version. I know many of us were wondering about it. I must say I was more than curious about it myself, so I collected a few pieces of info for you. Here is the picture where the entry gates will be located on Tower XIII map:

From the videos, it looks amazing! Although, it seems really hard to be fighting half way deep in the water, I think we really need to master our skills properly first. At the moment, Japanese players are in the process of unlocking the new tower. They need to donate 3500 Venom Powders that can be synthesized from Poisonous Moth Powder.
I wish our Japanese friends good luck and swift unlocking, and as for us… off to get those Butterfly Bottles! The quicker we work on them, the sooner we will proceed to Garden of Sleep, and then, Tower XV – Golden Alakul River.

Wero’s Culture Corner – Japan
A country of fragrant cherry trees, ancient temples on mist-shrouded hills, tea houses and traditional Japanese homes, yet, on the other hand a country of sleepless futuristic cities, fast-paced lifestyle and most modern technology that world can observe. That’s what I find most fascinating about Japan – the clash of culture and modernity, of tradition preserved parallel to highly developed infrastructure. Hence, Japan is for me envailed in mystery of hard to comprehend variety of coexisting contradictions. In one word, it is a wonder in itself. I met with Marisa with hope to understand more of Japan’s magic. We chatted about intriguing language and celebrations, but also about the PG twin versions, and her experience as a player of the two.

Wero> Let’s start with some basic Japanese for a beginner^^
Marisa> Ok, I think basic Japanese are ‘Konichiwa’ (‘Hello’) and ‘Sayonara’ (‘Bye’). We use it every day XD
Marisa> And also ‘Hajimemasite’ is ‘Nice to see you!’
Wero> How do you introduce yourself in Japanese?
Marisa> Watashi no namae ha Marisa desu.
Marisa> My name is Marisa XD ‘namae’ means ‘name’
Wero> So similar to English. How do you say ‘let’s tower together!’
Marisa> ‘Isshoni mawarou?’ means ‘tower together!’
Wero> What about ‘Congratulations’?
Marisa> ‘Omedetou!’ In PG when someone got a nice item many people say ‘Ome!’ it’s a shortened version.
Wero> Oh! Just like we create abbreviations in PG for English language. Great! Now I can use those stuff when I visit Japanese version! Until today, I mosty just say ‘Arigatou’ haha. But Japanese players are really kind!
Marisa> Oh happy to hear that!
Wero> I must say I have been very excited to make this interview. You play both PG versions, right?
Marisa> Yes, I first started in Jpn version and I heard about international version from friends there.
Marisa> When I first went to Tower 2 in international version, there was a small event and players invited me there : D They thought I was a beginner and taught me basics of PG! In Japanese PG, there are already groups and it was hard to make new friends. In international version they talked to me frankly and I was able to make friends : D
Wero> We would love to have more contact with Japanese players. So many of our players are following Artifact blog even though they can’t speak Japanese, and they go visit Japanese PG too!
Marisa> Jpn people are interested in international version too. So please chat with them when they come XD
Wero> Definitely, they are all such good PG players, we can learn a lot from them!
Wero> Well, let’s talk about your country then. Can I ask you where in Japan are you from exactly?
Marisa> I live in Kanagawa, just next to Tokyo. My school is in Tokyo, so I use train to go there every day.
Wero> Oh, I hope it doesn’t take too long!
Marisa> It’s just about 1 hour ; )
Wero> Would you prefer to live in Tokyo?
Marisa> I think it’s very convenient to live there.. but might be little noisy : P
Wero> What season do you like most in Japan?
Marisa> Spring is the best time! There are lots of cherry blossoms in Japan and it’s really so beautiful then! : )
Wero> What would you say are some important celebrations in Japan?
Marisa> I think New Year is the biggest celebration. We eat noodle called “soba” on 12/31. And there is a bell ringing from temples. It rings exactly 108 times on that night.
Wero> Oh, why such number?
Marisa> It’s a number of worldly desires and by ringing the bell we throw away bad desires and wish for happy new year.
Wero> That’s a great tradition!
Marisa> There is another interesting celebration in Japan. It’s on February, 4th and it’s called ‘setsubun’. We buy boiled beans and at home, we throw those beans to every room in the house. To get rid of the ogre, who live in the house, and to welcome good luck.
Wero> Oh! It must something like an evil spirit?
Marisa> Yes, it bring unhappiness to our house. And then, we eat sushi at the end!
Wero> Ow, I love sushi! There are so many different kinds of them, right?
Marisa> Yes, I can’t even remember all! When I go to sushi restaurant, the menu is so long! XD
Wero> Which one you think is most tasty then?
Marisa> I love kazunoko. It’s an egg of fish, herring in English, I think.
Wero> Yum! Is it your favourite dish, then?
Marisa> Haha, well.. I love cheese omlet best.. (oh, it’s not Japanese)
Wero> Haha
Marisa> I like noodles, called Udon Noodles. There are many types, but it’s mainly fried shrimp called tempura, and spring onions, and seaweeds.
Wero> Another amazing thing in Japan, which I admire, is Japanese kimono!
Marisa> Oh, I just wore it recently!
Wero> Is it still common to wear it on daily basis?
Marisa> No, it’s just on special day. It’s rare to see people wear kimono, only for some specific celebrations and events. There is a festival held often in Japan and people wear kimono called Yutaka to attend. That’s a more modern kimono. It’s easier to move with Yutaka!
Wero> I know quite a few players who want to learn Japanese. Can you tell us more about the language?
Marisa> Ok, so for example: “Mata aimashou” means ‘See you next time’ but Japanese words are placed opposite. ‘Mata’ means ‘next time’, ‘Aimashou’ means ‘see you’ So, it’s like ‘Next time see you’ XD
Wero> Maybe it is English that is diverted, not Japanese ; )
Wero> Well, it seems really difficult to learn.
Marisa> Yes, I think it’s also because we use 3 types of letters: Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji. Katakana is mainly for words coming from overseas, like マリサ (Marisa). Japanese Puppet Guardian’s name must be in Katakana, we cannot use Hiragana or Kanji. Hiragana is used just like a normal alphabet. Small children use Hiragana for writing. XD
Wero> Ow cute!
Marisa> Yes And Kanji is Chinese letters to abbreviate long words. Like, in Hiaragana, word ‘hard’ is ‘むすかしい‘ = 5 words. But in Kanji it’s just ‘難しい’ =3 letters. So it’s more compact.
Wero> So, you can basically write words in two different ways?
Marisa> Yes! Both are readable.
